Matt Woods
​Chief Deputy 

Chief Woods is a Florida native, but moved to Tennessee as a Teenager and attended Dyersburg High School.
He also:

• Began Law Enforcement Career in 1998 at a Patrolman with the South Fulton Police Department
• Graduated from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in 1999
• Hired on at the Obion County Sheriff’s Office in 1999 under Sheriff Cunningham as a Patrol Deputy, then promoted to Corporal in 2004, then Shift Sergeant in 2010.
• Promoted to Patrol Lieutenant under Sheriff Jackson in 2020 and was recently named the new Chief Deputy of the Obion County Sheriff’s Office.
• Served in the United States National Guard Armory since 2003 and currently holds the rank of Sergeant 1st Class.
